You may remember us joining We Are The Weirdos Ohio for their April flea market. We loved it so much we had to come back for the summer time! We'll have a variety of scents but a few favorites to expect:
Last event they had raffles so be sure to stop by our table! We can't wait to see you all again!
]]>The Dragon's Book Hoard online shop has been alive for 365 days... 52 weeks... 1 full year. It is WILD to think about! I know I've been working on The Dragon's Book Hoard longer than a year but I've been selling my dreams for that long. For a year I've created over 300+ individual candles by myself in my little apartment. Each one thoroughly thought out to smell heavenly. Here is to another year of amazing creations!
With a celebration like this a large gift is in need. Now usually I would be the one to receive a gift BUT this is too big not to give to all of my customers. I don't really like to word customer because it feels less personal, so here is a gift to you... my book family!
I am so happy to announce the product of my DREAMS! Character candles with custom one of a kind art! They are also officially licensed too! To start with we have everyones favorite High Lord and book boyfriend, Ryhsand, along with the beautiful High Lady of the Night Court, Feyre Archeron!
(photo)
Smells of citrus and sea salt much like he was described in the series. It is very masculine but has a soft sweetness to it.
(photo)
Smells of ripe pears and light floral lilac. It is an equal balance of fresh and floral but not overwhelmingly light and powdery like some florals can come off.

Join Feyre and Rhysand in the Night Court! This candle is similar in notes to Rhysand, but it is lighter, less masculine. It smells of the same sea salt and citrus but it also has jasmine and lilac. We have found this to be a great in between of the High Lord and High Lady of the Night Court.
All of our A Court of Thorns and Roses candles are officially licensed! Our character candles feature artwork by the very talented Anastasia (@). What characters from the ACOTAR series would you like to see next? Are there other book series you'd like to see? Leave us a comment to let us know!
]]>The air is beginning to cool, the nights are becoming longer, and the leaves are starting to change colors. Fall is nearly here! With a new season comes a ton of fun new smells and personally this is my FAVORITE collection! Fall is my favorite time of year so curating The Dragon's Book Hoard - Fall Collection was super easy. The hardest part was limiting myself so I didn't do twenty new fall scents!
Returning and revamped we have Autumnal Home! The company we got the original scent from had a very limited stock so we found a bigger supplier and the scent is nearly identical! We hope you love the sweet pumpkin and warm spices this scent brings.
This is a spicy warm scent inspired by my favorite blood witch, Coco from Serpent and Dove! Cardamom and peppercorn paired with cream and tonka bean makes this a very well balanced scent.
Gather around the fire and prepare for the scare of your life! This scent smells like gooey marshmallows over a warm fire. The scary part is just how good this sweet and smokey scent is! If you enjoyed White Wolf, you may enjoy this since it's a slightly sweeter version of it!
Our third installment of the seasonal courts is Autumn Court! It smells woodsy and fruity with hints of cedar, crunchy leaves, citrus, and apples. This is what we imaged the Autumn Court would smell like and it is an officially licensed Sarah J Maas item!
Mirror mirror on the wall...This scent was inspired by the famous quote from Snow White AND the Greek myth that started the Trojan War! That's right, "Fairest of them all," isn't just from a Disney classic. It also comes from Eres who tossed an apple and said "to the fairest of them all" when she wasn't invited to a wedding. Drama! This scent features juicy apples and green leaves. It is delicious to smell but don't eat it!
Returning from last year is our pomegranate and apple cider scent! It is inspired by all the witches brewing up potions for all hallows eve. It is fruity and a bit spicy!
Which scent are you most excited for? Let us know which ones you're hoping to snag! We will also have them for all of our in person shopping events! Shop the full collection here!
]]>Photo: Our original Autumnal Home candle from last year! It'll be returning but slightly revamped. It's more vanilla than cream this time.
Pretty much all the fall scents! We will have...
and much more!! For full details on our new fall scents keep an eye out for a post in August that introduces all our new comers! We will also be carrying some of our existing candles like Mare, Dame Blanche, Persephone, and more!
What are you most excited to try? I seriously cannot wait for you all to smell these because they are AMAZING! 😍
P.S. If you visit us and we are either out of stock or don't have your favorite on hand, you can purchase a gift card to use on your website for later!
]]>Inspired by the alluring sirens of the sea, Siren is a lighter feminine scent complement to our Poseidon scent! Inspired by books like Fable and Namesake as well as Daughter of the Siren Queen. Smelling of ozone, sea salt, light musk, jasmine, powder, citrus
Inspired by the Greek God of the Sea, Poseidon, and the many books in the Percy Jackson books. It is a deep masculine ocean scent smelling of ozone, sea salt, dark musk, patchouli, and eucalyptus. This is the masculine pairing to Siren!
Inspired by the old English cottages, baking, and reading vintage books. It smells just like freshly baked banana nut bread.
Of course we need our seasonal court! Summer Court features a sweet, woodsy, beachy smell. Yes, some how it all fits into one candle vessel and it smells AMAZING! My favorite scent in the entire release.

If that sounds like your cup of tea (pun intended of course) or you're just looking for something new to explore, we recommend check out their selection! They do have a couple more popular titles like The Witcher series (a personal favorite!) and the Harry Potter series.

She specially requested something Twilight inspired so we would love to hear your suggestions on the perfect scent profile to encapsulate Forks, Washington!
I cannot believe it's already December! We're wrapping up the year already? It all feels like a weird fever dream but here we are, the final stretch! The holidays are also upon us and for me that also means many birthdays and preparing for my 6 year anniversary with my boyfriend! It's a magical and snowy time of year and as much as I want to sleep all day I am often kept on my toes. Enough of my rambling though, let's finally get into my tbr list!
The last time I read any books from the Twilight series I was in the 5th grade being made fun of for "liking vampires". Then the movie came out and everyone swooned. As the outcast kid I vowed to not associate with the series ever again (I was very bitter that everyone was all about #TeamEdward and #TeamJacob when clearly the real team was #TeamAlice lol). That all changed when Midnight Sun came out. This book is from Edward's perspective so it gives an entirely new view of the series. I have a soft spot and the Twilight books were the last books my grandpa gave to me when he was still around so I bought the book on release day and said I'd read it for the two of us. Well it's been a few months and I'm about to be out of school so I have the time to tackle this chonky book.
Themes: Fantasy, Romance, Vampires
Pages: 658
This book was a series my boyfriend found as a random ad and the books were on sale so I said why not! It reminded me a lot of DnD so I decided to give it a try. This was last year. I started it and NEVER finished it because I got into The Witcher series so I'm jumping back in! It's about forbidden magic and accidentally raising your best friend from the dead... we've all done it once or twice in our lives, it's a simple mistake! Right?
Themes: High Fantasy, Magic
Pages: 236
In November I finally took the plunge and started the ACOTAR series! This is book two in that series and it is a THICC book! It's also very... steamy... so young readers beware! It's considered YA but just from what I've seen/heard so far I would consider this for adult eyes only. And I'll just say I'm very glad to spend a lot of time home alone so that I don't have to read/listen to this one in public or at work!
Themes: Romance, Fae, Fantasy
Pages: 656
My goal for the month of December is to read 1,550 pages. Three books doesn't feel like a lot or even enough for me but I'm tackling some chonky books! And with the holidays I don't want to over stress myself. If I happen to read extra books, that's awesome! 😍 But no pressure. This is a time for healing and rest. 💛
Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts? What's on your TBR list to wrap up the year?
]]>I cannot WAIT to interact with everyone that joins and I am so thrilled about the community we are building. Anyways, let's get into the details!
As much as I love the community on instagram, instagram messages just are not the place for to communicate with tons of people (for me at least) so I decided to make a Facebook group to share books of the month with threads to talk all about the book in as many characters as you please, as well as keep notifications to a minimum so you can get much needed rest when needed.
In addition to that it will also be like a VIP group for the shop! Joining you will hear about upcoming products, ask questions, connect with others that also enjoy our products, and of course the occasional Facebook exclusive discount codes ;)
]]>What we do...
We provide handmade products influenced by our favorite fantasy novels to bring our customer's reading experience to life. Inhale our candles of adventures, mark a book with a bookmark with flare, or even wear a favorite quote on a shirt. Here at The Dragon's Book Hoard, we want to bring to life fantasy worlds.
About our team...
The shop is primarily run by a single person, Jewel, but some featured items are created by her mother, Amber, and her boyfriend's mother, Kris. All items are handmade with love in the state of Ohio!
How we started...
Jewel created this business out of college during the pandemic. She had been studying business and entrepreneurship in hopes that one day she could break away from the normal 9-5 shift. After losing her internship and struggling with her mental health, Jewel turned to the one thing she knew best: crafting. She decided to start crafting up candles and designs all while listening to fantasy audiobooks to pick up every fine detail to capture perfectly in her creations. The Dragon's Book Hoard was actually a name that sat with Jewel for many years before deciding it would be a candle-based shop.
I’m hoping to get through this quicker than I got through Serpent & Dove. I’ll be participating in the reading challenge #BloodAndHoneyGushClub put on by bookstagramers Jennifer of ReadingWithInes and Jillian of WhereTheLostBoysMet. Their read-along challenges are a lot of fun and help me stay on track!
Themes: Fantasy, Magic & Witchcraft, Romance, Young Adult
Pages: 532
The Red Queen series was gifted to me for my birthday by a lifelong friend. I’ll be reading and listening to the audiobook. The audiobook was on sale and I love reading while listening as long as I like the narrator. This book is also much shorter than what I have been reading and I need a little bit of a break from lengthy books. I love them but it does become difficult to grind through for me being a slow reader.
Themes: Royal, Political, Fantasy, Magic, Young Adult
Pages: 388
I love true crime, so I had to have this book in my collection. I’ve listened to podcasts that explore the tales and theories of Jack the Ripper and there’s just something about cold cases that are interesting. I really try to figure out if I can solve the puzzle. This offers me some of that thrill and mystery which is perfect going into spooky season.
Themes: Historical, Horror, Mystery, Romance, Young Adult
Pages: 416
This semester I decided to take a creative writing class just for fun and part of that class we have to read a few books. I’ll be reading this and listening to the audiobook so I can really get all the information out of it and have a full experience. This story is not for the faint of heart. It truly takes a terrifying turn. For anyone interested in this book I will give a trigger warning: sexual assault.
Themes: Thriller, Adventure, Adult Fiction
Pages: 278
My reading goal for the month is a total of 1,614 pages! That's a lot for me but if 12 years old me could do it then 23 years old me can get through it too. Though 23 years old me has a job and school and a crazy kitten I can still do it!
I decided to put a bonus read on my list in case I finish all my books up before the end of the month! My bonus read is Girl, Serpent, Thorn by Melissa Bashardoust. It's a YA fantasy revolving around a princess with a poisonous touch *insert ominous spooky time music* and it's roughly 327 pages which for me is really short and a perfect weekend read!
